Not Your Mama's Roller Derby!
In 2003 a group of Austin, TX ladies made history. Forming the only league of its kind, flat-track roller derby was born with the Texas Rollergirls. Today over 400 leagues exist worldwide with more popping up all the time. Gone are the choreographed hits and staged theatrics of the '70s roller derby your parents grew up with. Flat-track roller derby is a hard hitting, competitive sport taking the world by storm. The blood, sweat and bruises are real and we're like nothing you've ever seen!

Roller Derby Hits the Tri-State!
Demolition City Roller Derby began as the tri-state's FIRST EVER flat-track roller derby league in January of 2007 when the first group of girls laced up their skates and hit the floor. Since then DCRD has established itself as Evansville, IN's only registered LLC, flat track roller derby league and is proudly skater-owned and managed! This means we do all league planning, coordinating and promotion ourselves.

DCRD is dedicated to providing the area with a fast-paced, exciting sport as well as being involved in and supporting the Evansville community. To date, DCRD has contributed over $16,000 to local charities and non-profit agencies as well as volunteered for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Easter Seals, CJ's Bus, Indiana Blood Center, and more!

DCRD has grown to over 50 active skaters with solid ref and stats crews as long as dozens of dedicated volunteers. DCRD is comprised of two interleague travel teams who compete with other leagues from around the Midwest and beyond: our All-Star Dynamite Dolls, and our B team Destruction Dames.

Women's Flat Track Derby Association
In September of 2009 DCRD was accepted as one of the first 10 leagues in the country to participate in the Apprentice Program through the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).

On June 18, 2010, in just its third year of existence, Evansville's Demolition City Roller Derby (DCRD) league has been awarded the sport's highest honor, as DCRD has been awarded full membership into the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).

'WFTDA is delighted to welcome our new members, all of whom represent the highest standard in athletics and league management,' said WFTDA Executive Director Juliana Gonzales.'We know they'll infuse our organization with lots of fresh ideas and great skaters.'

WFTDA is an international organization governing the sport of women's flat track derby and provides member leagues with standardized rules, hosts regional and national tournaments and sets safety standards for the sport.
